Born and raised in Chatsworth, Durban, Jashmir developed a deep connection to both music and technology from a young age. He credits his late father for instilling his love for IT, and his first taste of DJing came in 2013 when he experimented with his grandfather’s DJ controller. Jashmir’s breakout moment came with the viral success of “This Is How We Celebrate”, a global hit that gained international recognition, culminating in a performance at the 2024 Olympics prelude by pop sensation Tyla. His remix of the Blood & Water theme song in partnership with Netflix (2022)further cemented his reputation as a producer with wide appeal and a bold creative vision. As a live performer, Jashmir has played at sold-out concerts and major festivals across South Africa, including Nasty C’s Ivyson Tour (2018). His standout performances at the Gas Motorshow in 2023, 2024 and 2025 — where he headlined — are among his most notable achievements. During the 2024 edition, he delivered a moving on-stage tribute to his late father, a moment he describes as unforgettable.

In addition to his music career, Jashmir is also a skilled graphic designer, which complements his creative approach to visual and sonic storytelling.
